Meet Leadbottom... the Elf

When Skylar was younger, he had this thing for elves. Every Christmas, he thought the elves came to life. He made his mom buy all the elves from Wal-Mart because he thought he was the only one that could save them all. haha All of his brothers and sisters wrote letters from the elves at night and put them in his room so he'd get them when he got home from school. Skylar claimed that they all talked and could do things. One elf named "Gitter" played the guitar. One did the Cha Cha. He made all his friends come over to see what the elves could do. Anyway, Skylar's mom found this little guy, Leadbottom, for me to put in our house. His sisters and I wrote a letter written to Skylar from Leadbottom saying that he appreciated Skylar saving all of his fellow elf brethren and that the elves were gonna watch over Max now. We were bustin up laughing. I guess we're carrying on the tradition of the elves.

Lookin for golf balls...

So, it has just been absolute lovely weather lately and on Saturday we couldn't resist doing something outside... so .... we rode the rhino out by the sand hollow golf course and searched for golf balls that fell down the hill. Skylar said it was like an easter egg hunt. Ha ha we found a lot of golf balls!

Once everyone left, he fell asleep so fast ha ha ... and then the next morning when he woke up, he looked around at all his presents like "Oh sweet, that wasn't just a dream." He played and played and played. He has been so entertained with his new toys. It was sure fun to celebrate his first year!

Happy 1st Birthday Max!

Max we sure do love you and hope you have a wonderful day - - this day is probably a lot more special to your dad and I, as you don't know really what a birthday is, but we still want to make it a fun day for you. I always think of how we felt last year at this time and the excitement that we had! It was such a sweet experience. You were the first to make my dream to be a mother come true! We are the luckiest parents in the world and we feel so overly blessed to have you in our lives. We never realized the love you could feel... it's incredible and it only grows each day. Thank you for the joy you are to have around. You are so funny - you always make us laugh :) We love you Max!
